Eileen Hausmann

Eileen Naula Hausmann, 79, of Ocean View, died Sept. 27, 2021, at her residence. Born Jan. 28, 1942, in New York, she was owner/operator of Mail Services in Florida.

Private services.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa (Michael) Barsell of Ocean View; step-daughters, Laura (Jimmy) Brannigan and Linda (Paul) Travia, all of New York; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.

Brandon Grace

Brandon Hokulani Grace, 40, died Sept. 19, 2021, at his residence. Born Sept. 10, 1981, in Hilo, he worked at the Department of Water supply Kona Base yard and was hunter and fisherman.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Ivy Grace, sons, Brandon Grace Jr. and Andrew Grace, of Kailua-Kona; parents, Alberta and Randy Teeples, of Puna; parents-in-law, Tom and Judy Migliori of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Keone (Jennifer) Grace of Pahala, Donovan Grace of Puna, Kevin Grace of Oahu, Charles (Pi’i) Grace of Kailua-Kona, Ryan Grace of MountainView, RT(Niki) Teeples of Keaau, and Bronson (Tiare) Teeples of Hilo; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandra Scarr

Sandra Wood Scarr, 85, of Holualoa, died Oct. 8, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., she was a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, Yale University, University of Minnesota, and University of Pennsylvania, served as a board member and CEO of KinderCare, was active in the Kona Outdoor Circle, Kona Coffee Council, Kona Coffee Farmers Association, and Kona Orchid Society, served on the Hawaii County Water Board and the West Hawaii Governor’s Council, and bred Labrador retrievers and standard poodles.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by children, Karen Scarr of San Francisco, Rebecca Scarr of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Stephanie Jackson of Cornelius, North Carolina, and Phillip Scarr of Madison, Wisconsin.

Craig Hara

Craig Naoto Hara, 77, of Kurtistown, died Sept. 1, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a state meat inspector, rancher, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of Kurtistown Jodo Mission.

A drive-through visitation only will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Oct. 30 at Dodo Mortuary upper carport.

He is survived by wife, Hannah Hara of Kurtistown; son, Vern (Nadine) Hara of Hilo; daughter, Iris (Ronald) Auwae of Hilo; brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Saito of Hilo; sisters, Sylvia Donovan of Oregon, Ethyl (Richard) Radowicz of California; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
